Whoever said CMMS wasn’t exciting? Certainly not us. There are many exciting CMMS technologies that have emerged in the last few years, and much more to come in the near future. Here are a few examples:

Tablets:
The recent popularity of tablets has had big effects on CMMS. Users can now see service requests, work orders, parts inventory, and more instantly in the field. The built-in camera can be used to scan barcodes or take pictures of assets that can be uploaded in real-time.

RFID:
One of the latest technologies that is being used by organizations to manage inventory is RFID. Inventory can be equipped with RFID tags which are effortlessly scanned as they enter or leave the warehouse. That data is then automatically entered into your CMMS. Wow, now that’s easy.

Service Request Apps:
What if customers and employees alike could create service requests through a simple smartphone app? Well, now they can. Open up the app, confirm your location, enter the service request type, and get the issue fixed.

Advanced technology is a wonderful thing when it helps makes our lives easier, and with new features like the ones mentioned above, technology will do just that.
