Many companies offer CMMS and asset management software solutions. But how many companies walk their clients step by step through software implementation to ensure a successful and complete asset management program is established?
When searching for CMMS, ask the vendors questions about their implementation process: Do you have seasoned project managers to walk us through the process? How in depth is your level of knowledge about our industry? Do you have in-house software developers to customize the system as needed, or to quickly step in if there is a bug or issue? Are you going to help us with data migration?
Asking these types of questions is vital when determining which CMMS vendor to go with. Unfortunately, we have seen too many companies offer an excellent CMMS product, but due to poor implementation, the whole project fails. Instead of establishing a successful asset management program, a failed implementation leads the organization back to ground zero. Don’t fall for this costly trap!
